| Pleased to reconnect with Laura and Eduard Schmieder at the national American String Teachers Association Convention. He was one of my teachers when we lived in Texas and he had first arrived in the United States. |

| There were eight Gold Cups in my studio this year, including 3rd cups for the Kanells of Beaver, but only one of my students was able to attend the Cedar Gold Cup recital. There are always so many conflicting activities it's hard to fit in everything. |

It's wonderful to have a former student, Marin Colby, take leadership of the String Festival and be teaching her own students.
